Expandable spinner suitcases measuring 21, 24, and 28 inches are available in Samsonite’s Freeform Hardside Luggage range. The 21-inch (carry-on) variant was recently evaluated with 39 other top-performing carry-on luggage products. The Freeform performed better than all other suitcases during the tests, winning our top choice.
The Samsonite Freeform Carry-On is a fantastic bag. Starting with the outside, our testers had no trouble shoving the fully filled bag off tables and ladders and even swinging a baseball bat at it. The injection-molded polypropylene material stood up admirably. No matter the surface, the Freeform sailed through our maneuverability testing because to its four completely spinning wheels. Several pockets, a separator, and a cross ribbon improved interior organization. The Freeform was propelled to the top of our list by attributes including a multi-stage handle with an extra-wide grip, TSA-approved locks, and a 10-year warranty.
The Freeform has four 360-degree rotating wheels, which our testers said were easily maneuverable on a variety of terrain and speeds. One of the greatest slides of all the tested luggage, according to our testers. Although it handled bumps and other impediments well, our testers discovered that the suitcase handled most bumps better on two wheels. The robust multi-stage handle improved control and mobility. The testers concluded that it was simpler to hold the handle higher for carpet and lower for rougher surfaces.
Without using the extension feature, the Freeform fit all of the items on our list, which included two toiletry bags, two jackets, two pairs of shoes, two pairs of socks, four T-shirts, and two long-sleeved shirts. A divider with a few pockets and a cross ribbon help with organization. While our testers were able to organize their belongings and accommodate everything comfortably, they did express a desire for a couple more pockets and a separate area for filthy clothes or shoes.
It’s really lovely. Our testers remarked, “I adore this bag.” However, aesthetics aside, the design is simple (in terms of bells and whistles) and efficient. Available in 15 colors, the overall style is svelte and elegant. Once more, our testers wished there had been a second zippered pocket for soiled clothing or shoes. But if you have a set of packing cubes, you can easily fix this.
Another area where the Freeform genuinely shines is durability. The Freeform is extraordinarily tough and lightweight, weighing under six pounds, thanks to injection-molded polypropylene. One of the lightest items we tried was it. Our tester said, “This bag could definitely get tossed around and be fine.” “After the test with the baseball bat, it hardly had any scratches on it. If there are no more available overhead bins when I board group nine, I wouldn’t mind having my bag checked at the gate.
Simply told, this suitcase is quite affordable. It performs better than many luggage costing more than its current $180 price. Our tester believed that purchasing this bag was a wise purchase. This luggage can withstand wear and tear and get you through airport security, even if you’re rushing because you’re running late, especially if you travel frequently. The people who tried it out said they’d suggest it to friends and family who frequently travel and need a suitcase to keep up. In the event that you choose to have your luggage checked, the various colors make it easier to locate it on a baggage claim belt.
The tester said, “I feel like it could get dropped in a puddle and be fine, but it’s also not going to be crazy hard if you ram it into your leg in a mad dash to the gate. I also think the shell is a good middle ground between hard and soft.” This bag is a good option if you’re searching for a reasonably priced, robust, adaptable, and entertaining luggage (and who isn’t?).
This bag is intended for both frequent travelers and infrequent vacationers. We don’t believe there is a better all-around carry-on bag available, especially given the price. A week’s worth of clothing and other essentials can fit there. For the majority of passengers, it offers sufficient smart features and organizing capacity. And it is remarkably strong. We are unable to think of a better value anywhere else, especially when you consider Samsonite’s 10-year warranty.
